NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE NASH COUNTY BOARD OF EQUALIZATION AND REVIEW
PURPOSE OF MEETING
Pursuant to N.C. G.S. 105-322 the Nash County Board of Equalization and Review will meet to hear upon request any and all taxpayers who own or control taxable property assessed for taxation in Nash County with respect to valuation of such property.
TIME AND LOCATION OF MEETING
Monday, May 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. and Monday June 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. All meetings will be held in the Commissioner’s Room located in the Nash County Office Building, 120 W. Washington St. Nashville, N.C. The Board will adjourn for the purpose of accepting appeals, June 6, 2022. In the event of earlier or later adjournment, notice to that effect will be published in this newspaper.

ELDERLY AND PERMANENTLY DISABLED EXCLUSION, DISABLED
VETERANS EXCLUSION, CIRCUIT BREAKER DEFERMENT PROGRAM AND
BUILDER'S INVENTORY EXCLUSION
If you are interested in applying for an exclusion program you may request an application by calling (252) 459-1222, and an application will be mailed to you. Applications are available in the listing and collections departments of the Nash County Tax Office. They are also available on line at www.nashcountync.gov. Go to Government, Departments, click on Tax and on Tax Exemptions on the left and download the application for Property Tax Relief if applying for the Elderly, Disabled Veterans and Circuit Breaker programs or on application for Builders' Inventory Exclusion if you are applying for that program. All exclusion applications must be filed no later than June l , 2022.

In the spring, after the Board of County Commissioners establishes the tax rate for the coming fiscal year, taxes due are computed on the basis of real and personal property owned. Tax bills are printed and mailed to property owners in July or August of each year. The
What This Department Does Not Do
- Set property tax rates.
- Determine how taxes are used
- Have available State and Federal incomes tax forms
- Issue business licenses
- Have available information on property
liens and/or personal judgments - Handle maintenance of streets, roads, highways, or ditches; see NC Department of Transportation
- Issue license stickers for motor vehicles (No special County decal is required); see NC Division of Motor Vehicles
