Nash County is a thriving community located just east of the Research Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) with a diverse workforce and a prospering local economy that offers distinct advantages for growing industries.
Recognizing that transportation accessibility is the #1 factor in industrial site selection, Nash County is uniquely located at the interchange of several major highways. Prime industrial sites are available along Interstate 95 which provides quick and easy access up and down the eastern seaboard as well as along the US Highway 64 and 264 By-Passes which both offer interstate quality travel from the western metro regions of Raleigh-Durham to the coast.
The Rocky Mount-Wilson Regional Airport is also located in Nash County off NC Highway 97 and it features a 7,100 foot runway that can accommodate most aircraft. In addition, the travel time to the Raleigh-Durham International Airport is less than one hour from most areas of the county.
Several successful Class A industries already call Nash County home including: Pfizer, Honeywell, Cummins Engine Plant, The Cheesecake Factory Bakery, Universal North America, Draka and more. Attracting and retaining these industries is the primary mission of Nash County Economic Development.
