The Nash County Economic Development Department is committed to providing resources and advice for the business community amid this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. We would also like to recognize to additional community partners; Nash Community College Small Business Center and the The Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce for additional resource and opportunity’s to assist.
This list will be updated frequently over the coming months to provide our businesses with the timeliest information available.

COVID-19 Essential Business
The Executive Order 121 issued by Governor Roy Cooper states which businesses are to be considered essential businesses at this time. If your business is not listed as an essential business but you wish to remain open, you may submit a request via web form to be considered an essential business.
The Small Business Administration (US SBA) has authorized North Carolina as a designated state for access to Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL’s) for local small businesses.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act has allocated $350 billion to help small businesses to keep workers employed.

Unemployment options due to COVID-19- The Department of Commerce Division of Employment Security has been directed not to allocate charges to employers for individuals who are paid benefits due to the effects of COVID-19 outbreak. For additional information please click here.
