Do I have to be a Nash County Resident or US Citizen to become employed by Nash County?

Nash County residency is not required. Non-US citizens must be able to work legally in this country and present documents verifying immigration status.

Applications are accepted only for jobs that are currently being advertised. If you are interested in a position that is not currently open, you may fill out an online job interest card.

Are there any suggestions to help me complete an application?

  • Complete the entire application.
  • In addition to full-time work experiences, list any relevant temporary, part-time, internships, volunteer, and military work experiences.
  • Include a resume if desired. However, a resume will not be accepted in lieu of the completed application.
  • Be sure to include your complete education and training background and list any relevant registrations or certifications specific to the position you seek.
  • Your application form is our primary source of information in considering you for employment and, therefore, should represent your best effort.

How will I know if a position I have applied for has been filled?

You will receive notification via email or regular mail regarding the status of the position.

What if I do not have a computer or access to the web?

You may use the public computers located in many public libraries. You may also apply for county positions at the Employment Security Commission. Family and friends may also have internet access available for you to use. Computers are available in the Human Resources Department, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. We are located on the 3rd floor of County Administration Building:

An email address is required. How do I get an email address?

If you do not already have an email address, free email is available through a number of providers. Though we cannot endorse any particular vendor, you may want to visit MSN Hotmail, Yahoo! Mail, or AOL AIM Mail.

How do I save my application?

You must click "Save" to retain the information you have entered. If you close your browser prior to clicking "Save", you will lose any information you entered after the last time you saved. If at any time you need to exit out of the application form, click the "Save" button at the bottom of the form. You can return to your application later by logging into your account with your username and password.

Who will see my application when I use the online process?

All information is on a secure web server. Only the Human Resources Department and other county department users authorized to review specific job openings will have access.

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

Yes, once you have completed your online application, you can apply for multiple positions that are currently open.

How do I print my application?

After you have submitted your application, you will see a link that reads, "Click here for a printable version of the application you just submitted." Use this link to print a copy.

I missed the deadline. Can I still apply?

As with any position, once a closing date / time has passed, no application will be accepted or considered. Please continue to visit our website and apply for new jobs as they become available. You may also want to complete a job interest card to automatically be notified when a position you are interested in becomes available.

Will I automatically be considered for other positions if I previously submitted an application?

You must submit a separate application for all positions that interest you.

What if I am not ready to fill out the application at this time?

No application is submitted until you click on the "Accept" button. If at any time you do not want to submit your application, save your work, then log out.

How and when can I update my application?

Changes can be made to your application at any time before it is submitted. Once you submit an application for a particular position, you cannot go back and make changes to the submitted application. We only accept one application per position from a candidate. You may also make changes before submitting your application for any new positions.
