Community Health Needs Assessment and State of the County Health Reports

The Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) is an ongoing process that assists Nash County in aligning its resources, programs and strategies to address community concerns. It is a systematic collection, assembly, analysis and dissemination of information about the community's health. Every three years, Nash County Health Department and Nash UNC Health Care collaborate with community leaders, businesses, medical providers, school systems, and other partners to assess the community health needs. The CHNA team identifies, collects, analyzes, and disseminates information on community assets, strengths, resources, and needs through collaborative efforts. In between the CHNA, the State of the County Health Report (SOTCH) is developed to provide the community with an updated program and community efforts to address health concerns. The 2024 CHNA Top Three Health Priorities include:

Behavioral Health- Mental Health & Substance Use
Access to Quality Healthcare
Social Drivers of Health- Economic Stability
